Elicit Updates and Clarification

Five stars it is! Well, I might be a bit biased since I wrote the book. (giggles) As you know, this is not a traditional book. It’s a poetic expression from the heart, like the Book of Psalms in the Bible. (wink) Just about anything goes! However, some things need updating. It’s amazing what the eye catches while reading a book vs. on a screen. I won’t list all the grammatical tweaks I made, such as italicizing certain words, but I’ll update any factual mistakes, correct any botched names, and clarify anything as needed. Still, if I chose the wrong word, remember this is an interactive book, so you can fill in the correct one. Even so, some word choices may exceed our current understanding. Let them be. Anyways, below is a list of some of the updates not in the first 50 or so books: • Page 68 – Changed “adjective” to “noun.” • Page 47 – Replaced a trademarked phrase with “remember your place, and stay in your lane.” • Page 132 – Corrected spelling of Tilliman. • Page 172 – Please mentally change “condemned” to “condoned.” • Page 176 – Corrected the spelling of “cryptic.”  • Page 220, 255-256 – Honored LEGO with their desired all-caps spelling and added LEGO bricks where necessary. • Page 264 – Clarified statistics about the track-and-field athlete who did not break Usain Bolt’s record in the 200-meter. It should say, “who also became known as ‘one of the fastest men in the world’ that year. He also broke Usain Bolt’s record that summer for the most ‘ sub-20s’ in the 200-meter.” • Page 290 – Updated FDA wording, so I don’t get sued. • Page 370 – Decided on one spelling of Goldilocks and changed “Sister Locks” to “Mochalocks” to avoid trademark infringement. • Page 373 – Feel free to replace “racism” and “White supremacy” with “hate” to better tie the incidents for some. However, let’s not forget the definition of “racism” and that any form of “supremacy” usually ends in the loss of life. (wink) • Page 400 – Made some tweaks to clarify binarism and gender roles. • Page 414 – The comment about America’s progress vs. China’s requires some thought. America’s current age is irrelevant in that segment, and remember, “America” eventually became the United States. • Page 403 – Removed “or” instead of making it sound like trans people weren’t human (Oops! It was an honest mistake…and scary!) • Page 436 – Added “this must have been the spirit leading” after the segment on the caste system that interrupted my book. • Moved a bunch of exclamation points and question marks outside of quotation marks • Added the missing quotation mark that vanished (but I kept the backward one, lol) FYI, my book is not supposed to have “justified spacing” to form a cute box on each page. Why? Because it’s composed of letters! And I wrote and formatted everything myself. The rough edges look cool to me, and my book would have been much longer if each word were perfectly spaced to form a li’l box. The spacing also makes it slightly harder to read for those with tracking issues. So there, you smart folks!
